Rob Abel is a psychological researcher and author focused on understanding the underlying drivers of human behavior.

Rob began writing the first version of WHY between 2005 and 2007. Although he had the ability to write the book at the time, he recognized his understanding was incomplete. Rather than publish unfinished ideas, he chose to step back.

Over the next two decades, Rob devoted himself to testing his original theories through observation and continued studies. What began as early insight evolved into a deeper and more structured understanding.

Building on foundational frameworks from thinkers such as Tony Robbins, Abraham Maslow, Gary Chapman, and David Merrill, Rob introduces original psychological models which integrate these ideas into a cohesive system explaining the seven layers of our personality (our nature) and how they work together.

The result is This is WHY: Understanding Human Behavior – a work twenty years in the making that explains why people do what they do and the internal systems which drive behavior.

Rob lives in Palm Beach County, Florida with his wife and two sons.
