What’s With The Bracelet

What’s with the bracelet

What’s with the bracelet?  One of the things I have noticed about people is when people sit near one another, get in an elevator together, or are otherwise in close proximity, they don’t talk.  WHY?  99% of people are good people!

When I am in proximity to strangers I will find something in which to compliment them.  I say something simple (and polite) like “hey, I like your shoes”, “you look so pretty today”, “hey man, tell me about that gorgeous watch you have on” or the one I did the other day when there was a guy collecting parking money at the stadium I rolled up in my car and said “hey handsome, how is your day?”  That guy smiled so big, it looked like I made his day!  Every time I have done this, maybe with one exception, people have been nice and receptive.  WHY not make it a habit?

So what’s with the bracelet?

Wearing your WHY bracelet tells others “I’m approachable”, “I’m a nice person”, “I’m a good human”, “I have good character”, and “I am committed to doing my part to make the world a better place.”  The best way to start a conversation with someone is to ask them what they liked most about this book.  “What did the book do for you?”, “How did WHY change your life?” or “What epiphanies did you have while you read WHY?”

When we build this society, the world will open up to us.  We will realize how many people are good humans who want the world to be a better place.  Our need for connection is going to be filled off the charts!  Bracelet wearers have committed to sweeping their own doorstep, like you have.  If there is a time, or a day, where you don’t feel approachable (maybe you are temporarily low on capacity), simply put your bracelet in your pocket.  I want to offer the silicone ones which are simple to wear as well as nicer, or fancier, ones which may just have the letter “Y” on them (I have to think of my fashionista friends too.)

When I see someone wearing a WHY (or simply the letter “Y”) bracelet my goal is to out MMFI (Make Me Feel Important) you.  I told you in the chapter “Relationships” that you will not out relationship me.  I imagine someone has the letters “MMFI” written on their forehead and I will make you feel important.  If I can give you a smile that you can wear for the rest of the day, then my day will be even more complete.  I feel so happy when I do it that it’s almost selfish.  I can tell you it’s addictive though!  It will fill all your need levels with one simple action.  www.iWantToKnowWHY.com
